Lokoja Residents Face Six-Hour Power Outage Due to Scheduled Maintenance
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a scheduled power outage affecting several areas in Lokoja, the capital of Kogi State, today. The blackout, intended to facilitate essential maintenance work, is expected to last approximately six hours and thirty minutes.
Residents and businesses in Kaduna Junction, Kogi Polytechnic, Zango Town, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) area, and Lokoja Town are among those impacted by the outage. The maintenance activities are part of TCN’s ongoing efforts to improve the reliability and efficiency of the national power grid.
Local authorities have advised residents to make necessary preparations to mitigate the inconvenience caused by the temporary loss of electricity. This includes charging essential devices, securing alternative power sources, and planning for the continuity of critical services.
The TCN has assured the public that the maintenance work is crucial for enhancing the stability of power supply in the region and has pledged to complete the tasks within the stipulated timeframe to minimize disruption.
