Postecoglou Focused on Long-Term Spurs Vision Ahead of Europa Final

Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou has reaffirmed his commitment to the club, stating that his project at Spurs is far from over, regardless of the outcome of the UEFA Europa League final against Manchester United on Wednesday.

Speaking at a press conference in Bilbao, Spain, Postecoglou made it clear that lifting a trophy would not mark the end of his mission in North London, but rather a step forward.

“A trophy would be a fantastic achievement,” he said. “But it doesn’t mean the job is finished. There’s still a lot more we want to accomplish.”

The Australian manager addressed growing speculation around his future and dismissed criticisms that suggest his credibility depends solely on the result of the final.

“I’ve worked 26 years to get to this point. I won’t let one match define me or be called a ‘clown’ because of it,” he said firmly.

Postecoglou shared personal reflections on his journey from Greece to Australia, crediting his family’s sacrifices and his upbringing in a competitive sports culture for his resilience and drive.

“Coming from a migrant family, I know the value of hard work. My background has shaped how I lead and what I bring to this club,” he explained.

With the final set to kick off at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Tottenham are aiming to end a 17-year wait for a major trophy. A win would also mark Postecoglou’s first piece of silverware since joining the club last summer.

Despite the high stakes, the manager remains focused on long-term growth rather than short-term validation.

“Whether we win or lose, I’m here for the journey,” he said. “I’ve been in pressure situations before, and I know this match won’t be the last big test.”

Tottenham face a defining moment as they chase European glory and seek to cap off what has been one of the club’s most challenging seasons in decades.
