“If I die today, or my daughter dies”
Jane Edidiong Ufot, daughter of Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno, has sparked a storm of controversy with explosive allegations against her father in a viral video that has taken social media by storm.
In the emotionally charged footage, Jane, who currently serves as the governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Health, Safety, and Environment, accused Governor Eno of endangering both her life and that of her daughter.
She also made a shocking claim that her late mother, former First Lady Patience Umo Eno, who passed away in September 2024 after a long illness, was “sacrificed.”
“I’m not a sacrifice. Mummy was, but I’m not,” Jane stated through tears, implying that a sinister plot may be targeting her and her child.
One particularly distressing moment in the video shows Jane’s young daughter during a video call with Governor Eno, asking:
“So, Grandpa, do you want them to kill us? Do you want us to die like my baby brother died?”
The governor does not respond in the clip, a silence that has further fueled online speculation.
Jane went on to issue a grave warning:
“If I die today, or my daughter dies… my blood will not go scot-free.”
Her words suggest a perceived threat to their safety and hint at a deep family rift that has now spilled into the public domain.
As of the time of filing this report, Governor Umo Eno has not released any official statement addressing his daughter’s claims.
The video continues to circulate widely across social media platforms, prompting a wave of concern, sympathy, and outrage from Nigerians and observers both at home and abroad.
The unfolding situation has raised urgent questions about the family’s internal crisis and what may have led to such a public outcry from the governor’s daughter.
