Why I Might Not Raise My Children in Nigeria – Falz

In a recent interview, Nigerian rapper Falz was asked if he would raise his children in Nigeria. He responded thoughtfully, saying the question is complex and something he has not fully decided on.

Falz explained that due to the current insecurity in the country, the threats he faces because of his activism, and the general passivity he observes among Nigerians, he finds it difficult to say “yes” outrightly.

He added, however, that he remains hopeful and patriotic, believing Nigeria has the potential to improve. “I can’t outrightly say ‘no’ because I’m pro-Nigerian and I really believe that we can actually get it right,” he said.

Currently single and without children, Falz’s response highlights the concerns many Nigerians have about raising families amid the country’s challenges.
