Kamo State Reveals He Once Dreamt of Becoming a Lawyer

Fast-rising Nigerian skit maker and content creator, Kamo State, has revealed that his original dream was to become a lawyer before life’s realities redirected him toward the entertainment industry.

In a candid interview with fellow comedian Tobi Makinde, Kamo State recounted how financial challenges growing up in a single-parent household influenced his career path.

“I wanted to be a lawyer,” he shared. “But I was raised by a single mom alongside my siblings. My sister and I got university admission at the same time, and it was hard for my mom to sponsor both of us. She asked me, ‘Are you sure you want to do this? Who will sponsor you?’ That made me rethink everything.”

Faced with the situation, Kamo decided to follow his passion for performing arts. He studied the course in school and began focusing fully on content creation—a decision that would eventually launch him into fame.

He also revealed he started creating content as early as 2012, at the age of seven, but gained major recognition around 2019, with his big break coming during the 2020 COVID-19 lockdown period.

“I’ve been doing content since 2012, but my big break came in 2019, and you all know how things exploded during the 2020 lockdown,” he said.

Today, Kamo State is known for his energetic, relatable skits and continues to grow as one of Nigeria’s top digital entertainers.
