Mosab Hassan Yousef Slams Palestinian Leadership: “They Bet on the Wrong People”
Mosab Hassan Yousef, the son of a Hamas co-founder who later turned against the group and became one of its most outspoken critics, has delivered a sharp rebuke of the Palestinian leadership and its alliances — particularly with Iran.
In a recent post shared on his verified Twitter account, Yousef didn’t hold back. He called it “hilarious” that many pro-Palestinian activists are now aligning themselves with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), ignoring the damaging role Iran has played in Gaza’s suffering.
“Ayatollah’s power ambitions brought death and destruction on Gaza,” he wrote, pointing fingers at Tehran’s heavy influence over Hamas and other militant factions. According to Yousef, Hamas has never truly believed in Palestinian nationalism but has instead used the people’s anger and pain to push a radical jihadist agenda.
“Many Palestinians followed Hamas not for national liberation, but for honor and revenge,” he added.
Yousef, who once worked undercover for Israeli intelligence, has long insisted that Hamas is not a solution for the Palestinian people — but a major part of the problem. In his latest statement, he said Palestinians made a fatal error by trusting external forces like Iran, Hezbollah, and fringe ideological allies in the West.
“Palestinians made a big mistake laying their eggs in Ayatollah’s basket,” he declared, warning that betting on such alliances has only led to deeper suffering and stalled any real path to peace or progress.
Known for his candid and often controversial takes, Mosab Hassan Yousef continues to challenge popular narratives in the Middle East, urging Palestinians to rethink the leadership and ideologies that have defined their struggle for decades.
