Charlie Puth Teases New Album and Broadway Debut at Cannes Lions Festival

The Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity kicked off in France on Monday with a glamorous opening night, featuring a live performance by pop sensation Charlie Puth — and some exciting revelations about his musical future.

While onstage, the Grammy-nominated artist teased fans with updates on his upcoming project.
“I’m currently finishing my fourth record off of FaceTime right now,” he said. “I can’t wait for all of you to hear it. A lot of piano. A lot of piano.”

Charlie Puth, who has garnered billions of streams on Spotify with hits like We Don’t Talk Anymore and See You Again, went on to serenade the star-studded crowd with some of his most popular tracks.

In addition to news about his album, the singer-songwriter revealed a bold new creative direction: Broadway.

“That’s something we’re starting to work on,” said Charlie Puth during an interview at the event. “The Broadway world is very exciting. It’s really different. It’s a lot less instant gratification because it’s a longer process than making an album,” he noted. “I just like doing things I haven’t done before.”

The event drew a glamorous crowd, including NBA star Kyle Kuzma and his fiancée Winnie Harlow, Summer House stars Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula, The Traitors alum Dylan Efron, and comedian Bowen Yang.

With a new album and a Broadway musical in the works, Charlie Puth’s creative horizons continue to expand — and fans are eager to see (and hear) what comes next.
