“Where Did We Go Wrong?” — Tacha Breaks Down Over Benue Massacre

Reality TV star and influencer Tacha has shared an emotional outburst in reaction to the recent mass killings in Benue State, which reportedly claimed over 200 lives.

In a deeply moving video filmed from a hospital bed, Tacha broke down in tears, expressing sorrow, frustration, and disbelief over the scale of the tragedy and the Nigerian government’s silence on the matter.

“I woke up this morning asking, where did I go wrong being a Nigerian? Where did we go wrong being Nigerians? Where did we go wrong? Did we pick our country? Where did we go wrong as Nigerians?” she asked, visibly shaken.

Tacha, who has never shied away from speaking on national issues, questioned why such bloodshed could happen in a country that is not at war.

“What is the offence Nigerians has committed that is strong enough for more than 200 people to go to bed in the night and not wake up the next morning?” she asked, struggling to hold back tears.

Referencing the ongoing war between Iran and Israel, she noted that despite the scale of their conflict, Nigeria’s death toll—despite not being at war—was even more devastating.

“I need everybody to understand that Israel and Iran are at war and up to 200 people have not been killed but in Nigeria you can go to bed and your tomorrow is not guaranteed, and on top of this we have to beg the government to even talk about it.”

Tacha condemned the Nigerian government’s perceived lack of empathy, stating that it took a foreign religious leader to express condolences before local leaders spoke up.

“It had to take a pope of over how many miles away to address Nigerians, to sympathize with Nigerians, to give Nigerians hope before our government talked about this. Where did we go wrong to vote this government into power?”

How is human life not important to you? And you have children? And you have families?” she cried, calling out leaders who have remained silent in the face of the carnage.

The massacre has drawn outrage across the country, with celebrities and citizens joining Tacha in demanding accountability and compassion from those in power.
