“Iran Brought Them to Their Knees” – Fani-Kayode Hails Tehran’s Bold Strike, Sparks Online Uproar
As the dust settles over the recent ceasefire between Iran and Israel, one voice from Nigeria has sparked intense debate—Femi Fani-Kayode, Nigeria’s former Minister of Aviation, has openly congratulated Iran for what he called a “historic act of resistance” against Israeli and U.S. aggression.
According to a NewsVista reporter, Fani-Kayode took to his verified Facebook account to express solidarity with Tehran, following Iran’s retaliatory missile strike on a U.S. military base in Qatar and the intense bombardment of Iranian nuclear facilities by American forces on behalf of Israel.
In a post that has since triggered both applause and outrage, Fani-Kayode wrote:
“I congratulate the Islamic Republic of Iran for standing up to the Zionist bullies and Talmudic troublers of the world, teaching them the lesson of their lives, bringing them to their knees, and forcing them to go running to their big brother America for help in the field of battle and to beg for a ceasefire.”
He continued by saying:
“In its entire 77-year history, the Zionist state has never suffered such shock, panic, trepidation, terror, infrastructural damage, and shame. Their cities have never been so savagely attacked and destroyed.”
These explosive comments come just days after U.S. President Donald Trump announced a ceasefire deal between Israel and Iran following nearly two weeks of devastating conflict, including missile exchanges, airstrikes, and international fears of a regional war.
Trump admitted that American forces conducted deep-strike missions on Iran’s nuclear sites using bunker-buster bombs—targets that Israel alone could not reach. Iran’s missile retaliation, although said to have caused minimal damage, was enough to push Washington to de-escalate tensions.
While Tehran has framed its military response as a warning shot, Fani-Kayode has lauded it as a defining moment in Middle Eastern power dynamics.
However, his comments have divided public opinion. Critics have accused him of glorifying violence and deepening sectarian tensions, while supporters say his words reflect widespread frustration over perceived Western double standards and imbalanced military support in the region.
As of now, the Israeli government has not officially responded to Fani-Kayode’s remarks, but online reactions continue to surge. Some are calling him “brave” for taking a stance against Israeli actions, while others have labeled his statements as reckless and dangerous.
Meanwhile, Iran maintains that the ceasefire is not a sign of weakness, but a step toward a possible negotiation—one that doesn’t compromise what it calls its “legitimate nuclear rights.”
With global tensions still high and political opinions more divided than ever, one thing is certain: the Israel-Iran conflict is not just playing out on the battlefield—it’s also igniting fierce debates across the world.
