Sowore Reacts After 3 Men Who’ve Been In Kirikiri Since 1999 Over A Generator Case Regained Freedom

Nigerian activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore has taken to his official X account on Tuesday to react after some men regained freedom from Kirikiri prison

Omoyele Sowore’s reaction came after an X user made the announcement on his official account. According to the X user, the men have been in prison since 1999 after they were alleged to have stolen a generator.

According to the X user;

“Over 25 years in Kirikiri over a generator case. Yes, since 1999. They went in as boys, came out as men. A quarter of a century stolen by a system that forgot them. But today, freedom finally came”.

Reacting, Omoyele Sowore thanked the X user for advocating for the release of the men. The former presidential candidate also expressed joy over the release of the men.

According to Omoyele Sowore on his official X account;

“Your tenacity and advocacy paid off regarding these men. Glad to see them released finally. The governors who accused them of stealing a generator are now stealing cities!”.
