Wike Reacts to $6.45 Billion Abuja Land Scandal Involving His Sons — “It’s Rubbish!”
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has finally responded to explosive claims that he allocated over 3,800 hectares of premium Abuja land — reportedly worth a jaw-dropping ₦9.5 trillion — to his own sons.
According to circulating reports on social media, one of Wike’s sons allegedly received 2,082 hectares under a company named JOAQ Farms and Estates Limited, while another son reportedly got 1,740 hectares, with the land located in luxury zones like Maitama and Asokoro.
But in a swift reaction captured by a NewsVista reporter, Wike dismissed the entire story as “complete rubbish”, calling it a politically motivated attack.
“Go and find 2,000 hectares of land in Maitama or Asokoro—show me where it exists,” Wike said, pointing fingers at political opponents he claims are trying to stain his name, especially those “from Adamawa.”
The minister also challenged critics to present real documents if they have proof, not just viral rumors.
“Assuming—though not conceding—my children applied for land, are they not citizens? Are they Ghanaians?” he asked. “Should they be disqualified just because I’m Minister?”
The scandal has triggered fierce debates online. Some call for an official investigation. Others believe it’s nothing but 2027 political drama in disguise.
