I Fell in Love with a Yahoo Boy — After Two Months, My Hair Started Falling Off
They say love is blind — but mine nearly cost me my life.
I met Kelvin at a lounge in Lekki. Handsome, rich, and generous — everything about him screamed success. He told me he was into “online business,” and I didn’t ask questions because the gifts were flowing.
In less than two months, I had an iPhone, new wigs, and designer shoes. Life was sweet — or so I thought.
Suddenly, my hair started falling off. First, I noticed patches on my head. I thought it was stress, but it got worse. My edges disappeared, my scalp burned, and within weeks, I looked like someone under spiritual attack.
I tried everything — doctors, herbal remedies, even church deliverance — but nothing worked.
It wasn’t until I ran into one of Kelvin’s ex-girlfriends that the bitter truth came out. She told me:
“He’s a Yahoo boy. He uses women’s hair, underwear, even pictures for rituals. You’re the latest victim.”
I confronted Kelvin. He laughed and said I should enjoy the soft life and stop complaining.
But what’s the point of iPhones and designer shoes if I can’t recognise myself in the mirror?
Now I’m stuck with shame, regret, and a bald head — all for falling in love with a Yahoo boy.
