“Reasons VDM is More Useful Than Peter Obi”: Tinubu’s Aide Fires Shots at Ex-Gov in New Interview

According to a NewsVista reporter, presidential aide Daniel Bwala has stirred controversy after boldly declaring that social media critic VeryDarkMan showed more empathy than Labour Party’s 2023 flagbearer, Peter Obi.

Speaking on Politics Today on Channels TV, Bwala took aim at Obi for calling out President Bola Tinubu’s failure to visit Yelewata, Benue State, after a deadly attack left dozens dead. He said Obi was politicising tragedy, while a non-politician like VeryDarkMan actually went to visit the victims.

“VeryDarkMan is not even a politician, but he went to Benue. Why does Obi need to be president before showing empathy?” Bwala asked.

He went further to accuse Obi of playing to the gallery. “These guys shift goalposts all the time. If the president doesn’t go, they complain. If he goes, they still complain. What do they really want?”

Bwala added that leadership isn’t about photo ops, noting that President Tinubu can delegate power through ministers and security chiefs as allowed by the Constitution.

Online reactions were swift and intense:

  • “You’re comparing a TikToker to a former governor? Nigeria is finished.” – @NaijaTrendsLive

  • “VeryDarkMan is chasing clout. Obi moves in silence.” – @ObiDattiSolidarity

  • “Calling Obi an ‘internally displaced politician’? Bwala no get chill!” – @Naija_PoliticalGist

This drama comes just days after VeryDarkMan himself declared that the opposition coalition led by Obi and Atiku would “fail woefully” in 2027, citing disloyalty and a compromised electoral system.
