‘Igbo Criminals, Not Fulani Herdsmen, Behind Anambra Killings,’ Soludo Declares, Video Goes Viral

According to NewsVista, Anambra State Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo has dropped a bold truth bomb during a town hall meeting in Maryland, USA—shutting down the widespread belief that Fulani herders are behind the insecurity in the southeast.

Soludo, speaking directly to Anambra indigenes in the diaspora, said nearly all the kidnappers and violent criminals arrested in the state since he assumed office have been Igbos.

“Let’s stop deceiving ourselves,” the governor said. “Since I became governor over three years ago, 99.99% of those arrested for kidnapping and other crimes are Igbos. These so-called ‘liberators’ hiding in our forests are not fighting for any cause. They are criminals, and they survive with help from people within our communities.”

He also questioned how these armed groups manage to operate for months without local support. “Who’s feeding them? Who shelters them?” Soludo asked rhetorically, making it clear that the real enemy is within.

His remarks quickly went viral across social media, stirring strong reactions. While some Nigerians praised his courage in addressing the truth, others expressed shock and disappointment.

One user wrote, “It’s disheartening. A patient I treated once said his Igbo-speaking kidnappers beat him mercilessly.” Another added, “We keep blaming outsiders while destroying our own land. The southeast economy is suffering because of us.”

Some even called for Soludo to run for president, applauding him for his honesty and bold leadership.

Regardless of public opinion, one thing is clear—Governor Soludo is urging Igbos to take a hard look inward and stop hiding behind dangerous assumptions.
