Just In: Prominent PDP Chieftain Joins ADC Ahead of 2027 Election, “I Am Convinced”

According to a NewsVista reporter, Bolanle Amina Sarumi-Aliyu, popularly known as BASA, has officially joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC) under the Coalition of Nigeria Political Groups — marking a significant political shift ahead of the 2027 general elections.

BASA, who was a former governorship aspirant in Oyo State and also served as a Senior Special Assistant on diaspora affairs to Governor Seyi Makinde, announced her decision on Wednesday, July 9, via her verified Facebook and X pages.

This move comes just one month after she resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the ruling party in her home state.

In her declaration, Sarumi described her transition to the ADC as a product of “deep reflection, consultation, and prayer.” She said the ADC offers what she calls a “clean slate” — a new opportunity to rebuild, reconnect with the people, and push for people-centered leadership.

BASA also used the occasion to urge all her supporters across Oyo — at local government and ward levels — to immediately align with the ADC, emphasizing that mobilization has begun.

Her message extended beyond Oyo State, as she called on youths and women across Nigeria to unite under the ADC’s progressive platform, describing the moment as an opportunity to “dream again and lead from the front.

She concluded with a rallying cry for women and young people to rise, participate, and take ownership of the country’s future.
