Troops Arrest Suspected Kidnapper With N13 Million Cash, Arms, Heavy Charms Along Kaduna-Jos Road
According to a NewsVista reporter, troops of Operation SAFE HAVEN have arrested a suspected kidnapper with a shocking stash of weapons, cash, and charms during a checkpoint stop along the Wamba–Jos road.
The arrest took place near Agameti in Kaduna State, where soldiers flagged down a suspicious vehicle. Two occupants escaped on foot, but one suspect was caught with over ₦13.7 million in cash, two AK-47 rifles, live ammunition, and several charms believed to be for protection.
Major Samson Zhakom, the military spokesperson, confirmed that the vehicle showed bullet holes and bloodstains. The suspect even tried to bribe the soldiers but was refused.
During interrogation, he confessed to multiple kidnapping operations along the Jos–Makurdi axis and offered to take troops to his gang’s hideout. But while leading them there, he reportedly tried to grab a soldier’s weapon and was instantly neutralised.
Troops have now launched follow-up operations to track down the fleeing accomplices and dismantle the criminal network. Authorities are calling on the public to support the mission by reporting any suspicious activity.
