Iran’s Speaker Warns: “Disunity Is a Betrayal” After Israeli Strikes Spark Tensions

Speaking during a tense parliamentary session in Tehran on Sunday, July 20, 2025, Qalibaf declared that national unity was not just political—but a sacred duty commanded by Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
His remarks came in the wake of deadly Israeli airstrikes on Iranian military and nuclear sites that reportedly killed top scientists and commanders. Qalibaf emphasized that Iran’s swift retaliation forced Israel into calling for a ceasefire, showing that unity remains Iran’s strongest weapon.
“The world has seen it clearly,” Qalibaf said. “When Iranians stand as one, no enemy dares to act.”
He slammed foreign adversaries, calling them “rented nations and homeless mercenaries,” and insisted that recognizing the Supreme Leader as the symbol of national cohesion is critical for Iran’s future.
He also condemned Israel’s recent strikes on Syrian military bases in Damascus, warning that Prime Minister Netanyahu’s aggression would only intensify unless directly challenged.
