“They Ran Over My Leg and Left Me to Die” – Abuja Lady Shares Chilling One-Chance Ordeal

An Abuja woman has recounted the most terrifying day of her life after falling into the hands of suspected “one-chance” robbers who allegedly kidnapped, beat, and extorted her, before leaving her injured in the middle of the road.

Speaking on The Lucky Udu Experience, the victim said the nightmare began at Lugbe Shoprite bus stop, where she boarded what appeared to be a normal commercial vehicle while heading from Kubwa to Wuse.

Inside the vehicle were only three men—the driver, one man in the front seat, and another in the back beside her. But within minutes, the man in the front leapt to the back and grabbed her by the throat, while the other restrained her.

7 Hours of Fear, Torture, and Extortion

According to her, the attackers demanded ₦10 million as ransom. When she explained she could not raise such an amount, they beat and threatened to kill her.

For more than seven hours, they held her captive, forcing her and her family to transfer a total of ₦700,000 to them before releasing her.

Left Crippled on the Road

Shockingly, the robbers did not simply drop her off.

“After I did all the transactions, they pushed me out. Then they drove over my leg with their car. I tried to stand, but I fell. I got up again and fell again—that’s when I realised they had crushed my leg,” she said.

She was eventually rescued by a good Samaritan tricycle rider who took her away from the scene.

Her Plea to the Government

The victim is now calling on the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory and security agencies to take urgent action.

“Those of us without cars rely on public transport every day. Please, tighten security in Abuja so no one else goes through this,” she appealed.
