Nairobi Lady Reveals What Saudi Boss Did to Her Making Her Return Home in 3 Days after Arrival
A young Kenyan woman, Tabitha Buleti from Nairobi County, has shared her heartbreaking experience working in the Gulf, revealing how harsh treatment from her Saudi employers forced her to return home just three days after arriving.
Tabitha, like many others seeking greener pastures, left Kenya with high hopes of securing a good job abroad to support her family. Speaking about her ordeal, she said the decision came after a difficult breakup that left her financially strained. Determined to rebuild her life, she entrusted her child to her mother and accepted a domestic job offer in Saudi Arabia.
However, upon arrival, her expectations were shattered. “When I went there, I was working for a very big family — they were 17 in total,” she recounted. “I arrived at 11 p.m. and thought I’d start work the next day, but I was made to work immediately and barely got any sleep.”
She described exhausting work hours, little rest, and mistreatment that made her situation unbearable. Within just three days, she decided to leave Saudi Arabia and return home. Later, she tried working in Qatar, but the conditions were not much better, as false promises of good pay and fair treatment persisted.
Now back in Kenya, Tabitha uses her experience to warn others about the realities many domestic workers face in the Middle East. “Not all that glitters is gold,” she advised. “It’s better to struggle at home with dignity than suffer abroad.”
