“Can’t You See I Just Came Back?” — Lady Speaks on Viral Clash With Uber Driver
A Nigerian woman identified on TikTok as @hermajestygem has addressed the now-viral video of her heated exchange with a 50-year-old female Uber driver in Lagos.
In a new video posted on her TikTok account, the young woman shared her side of the story, claiming the incident escalated after they politely complained about the driver’s personal items in the back seat of the car.
“We Were Happy to See a Female Driver”
According to her, she and her aunties were excited to see a woman behind the wheel. However, tensions began when they asked the driver to remove some of her belongings to create more space.
“She said, ‘Can’t you see I just came back from my other job? Besides, this is my car,’” @hermajestygem narrated.
Exchange Became Heated
She explained that her response came after she felt the driver had disrespected her aunties.
“She snapped at my aunty, so I stood up for her,” she said, adding that respect should be mutual regardless of age.
Aunt Confirms Rude Attitude
Her aunt, who filmed the video, also spoke out, saying the driver had been “aggressive” from the beginning and didn’t even greet them properly.
Mixed Reactions
The video continues to generate mixed reactions on social media. While some believe the Uber driver overreacted, others insist the passengers could have been more respectful to someone older.
The incident has reopened conversations online about customer service, mutual respect, and how public confrontations are handled in Nigeria.
