Megan Thee Stallion’s liquor promo faces pushback over Tory Lanez case
Megan Thee Stallion, known not only for her music but also for ventures like an anime series and her own tequila brand, continues to face public scrutiny from critics who tie everything she does to the Tory Lanez case.
As captured by The Neighborhood Talk on Instagram, a recent pop-up event promoting Meganās liquor took place at Dream Con in Houston over the weekend. During a live stream, a few attendees approached the booth to ask about the promotion. After the staff explained the purpose of the pop-up, one woman responded dismissively, saying, āI donāt know, itās really free Tory, so I donāt knowā, before walking away.
The brief video didnāt capture any additional reactions, suggesting there wasnāt much follow-up at the scene. However, the moment highlights the ongoing divide in public opinion over Megan Thee Stallion and Lanezās legal history.
Although Tory Lanez was convicted in late 2022 and sentenced to ten years in prison for shooting Megan, the debate continues outside the courtroom. Earlier this month, Lanezās legal team claimed to possess new evidence that they say could exonerate the rapperākeeping the controversy alive on social media and in fan communities.
