Mr. Macaroni Applauds Tunde Onakoya’s Chess in Slums Africa Initiative: “Tremendously Inspiring”

Popular Nigerian comedian and activist, Mr. Macaroni, has praised chess master Tunde Onakoya for his groundbreaking work with Chess in Slums Africa, calling the initiative “tremendously inspiring.”

In a social media post, Mr. Macaroni commended Onakoya’s efforts to uplift underprivileged children through the game of chess, describing it as a powerful contribution toward building a better Nigeria.

“The work Tunde Onakoya is doing is not just commendable, it is tremendously inspiring!!! At the end of the day, what we all want is a better country that we all can be proud of—and there are different ways to achieve that. We all must play our part,” he wrote.

His message followed Onakoya’s recent visit to President Bola Tinubu, where he presented his Guinness World Record certificate for the longest chess marathon and a specially designed gold-plated Adire chess set.

Onakoya’s Chess in Slums Africa has received international acclaim for using chess as a platform to educate and empower children from low-income communities across Nigeria, turning potential into progress—one move at a time.
