Veteran Actress Tola Oladokun Reveals How Funke Akindele and Toyin Abraham Changed Her Life

Veteran Nollywood actress, Tola Oladokun, has opened up about the major turning point in her career—crediting fellow actresses Funke Akindele and Toyin Abraham for changing her story in the Nigerian movie industry.

In a recent interview on Oyinmomo TV, Tola Oladokun reflected on her early struggles, how she met Funke Akindele, and the unexpected opportunities that followed.

“Everything changed for me after I met Funke. She believed in me and kept calling me for roles,” the veteran said.

According to her, Lala first introduced her to Funke during the early days of Odun Ifa, when Funke was still learning the ropes in Nollywood. At the time, Tola couldn’t join Funke’s project Agbefo due to another commitment.

“Lala introduced me to her. I couldn’t feature in Agbefo because I was on another job. But Funke still called me again through Lala, and from that moment, she never stopped involving me in her movies. That’s how we later worked on Jenifa,” she explained.

Tola also acknowledged Toyin Abraham, noting how both women have played key roles in her continued success and relevance in the industry.
