Cyan Boujee Opens Up About Childhood, Fame, Love, and Life Lessons in Candid Interview

Popular South African DJ, influencer, and content creator Cyan Boujee (real name Honor Zuma) has shared deeply personal insights into her life in a new tell-all interview with Freshman Magazine.

Raised in Mamelodi under the strict eye of her father, Cyan described her childhood as disciplined but confidence-building. One of her happiest memories remains the day her mother announced she was expecting a baby brother.

Reflecting on her fame, Cyan credits her DJ career for propelling her into the spotlight. “Even when I wasn’t that good yet, people screamed for me,” she admitted. Her first viral moment? Mispronouncing a product name.

Despite public controversies, Cyan insists her fame isn’t scandal-driven. “I would still be famous without the drama. I’ve always wanted to be on TV,” she said.

On relationships, Cyan revealed she’s seeking a “God-fearing man” with a good sense of humor, dismissing rumors that she’s aggressive: “I’m not a bully. I just treat people how they treat me—but 10 times worse,” she joked.

Discussing business, Cyan disclosed that she once earned R280,000 for a single Instagram post, underlining the power of influencer marketing.

Her favorite travel spots include Turkey and Dubai, both of which, she said, positively impacted her life. She also cleared the air on viral gossip surrounding her BBL surgery, explaining she suffered a post-surgery infection that led to swelling—not a botched procedure.

Despite her fame and glamor, Cyan said she’s still “real and learning,” encouraging fans to embrace authenticity.
