Iran’s New Top Military Commander Maj. Gen. Ali Shadmani Killed in Israeli Airstrike

In a major escalation of regional tensions, Maj. Gen. Ali Shadmani, Iran’s newly appointed top military commander, has been killed in an Israeli airstrike, just four days after taking over the position.

Shadmani had succeeded Maj. Gen. Gholam Ali Rashid, who was also killed in a similar strike last Friday during Israel’s opening offensive against Iran.

According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Shadmani was Iran’s de facto “war chief of staff”, overseeing both the Revolutionary Guards and the Iranian Armed Forces from the Khatam-al Anbiya Central Headquarters—Iran’s military command center responsible for wartime operations and strategic planning.

In an official statement, the IDF revealed:
“His elimination significantly disrupts Iran’s offensive capabilities and weakens their military chain of command. Shadmani was directly involved in planning attacks on Israel and coordinating Iran’s military responses.”

Shadmani previously held key roles as the deputy head of the Khatam-al Anbiya HQ and chief of operations for Iran’s armed forces, making him a pivotal figure in Tehran’s military leadership.

This development marks another severe blow to Iran’s military infrastructure amid intensifying Israeli-Iranian hostilities.
