FA Officially Charges Mykhailo Mudryk with Doping Offences
Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk has officially been charged by the Football Association (FA) for doping violations, months after he was provisionally suspended following a failed drug test.
The 23-year-old Ukraine international — once hailed as a future star at Stamford Bridge — has not played since December 2024. His absence raised eyebrows, and now the FA has confirmed the reason.
In a statement, the FA said:
“We can confirm that Mykhailo Mudryk has been charged with Anti-Doping Rule Violations alleging the presence and/or use of a prohibited substance, in terms of Regulations 3 and 4 of The FA’s Anti-Doping Regulations. As this is an ongoing case, we are not in a position to comment further at this time.”
Reports indicate that meldonium, a banned performance-enhancing substance, was detected in Mudryk’s ‘A’ sample. If found guilty, he could face a suspension of up to four years, a potentially career-defining setback for the young forward.
Chelsea has yet to issue an official response, and sources suggest the player is cooperating with authorities while preparing a legal defense.
