Aminatu Papapa Reveals Why She Chose Husband Lukman Raji Over Other Actors in Nollywood
Popular Yoruba Nollywood actress Bukky Adekogbe, widely known as Aminatu Papapa, has opened up about her early experiences in the movie industry and the personal choice that led to her marriage.
During a recent interview on Oyinmomo TV’s official YouTube channel, the actress revealed that two well-known actors approached her for a romantic relationship when she first entered Nollywood. One of them was the late actor Murphy Afolabi, who she said was the first to express interest in her.
However, despite Murphy’s popularity at the time, Bukky chose to be in a relationship with fellow actor Lukman Raji, who is now her husband.
In her words:
“The first actor to toast me in the movie industry was Murphy, but I preferred to date Raji. It is not about the looks of both of them. Murphy had a lot of women he was dating at the time, but Raji was calm and gentle.”
The actress explained that her decision was based on Raji’s character and peaceful nature, which she found more appealing and reliable compared to Murphy’s lifestyle.
Bukky Adekogbe has since built a stable family life with Lukman Raji, and the couple remains admired both on and off-screen by their fans.
