Police Bust Kidnapping Gang, Rescue Four-Year-Old Girl, Arrest Suspects





The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has recorded a major security breakthrough with the rescue of a kidnapped four-year-old girl, the arrest of a fake kidnapping gang, and the recovery of over $46,000 in counterfeit U.S. dollars during coordinated raids across multiple states.
This was disclosed in an official statement released on Saturday, June 21, 2025, by Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who emphasized the effectiveness of intelligence-led policing in curbing insecurity and dismantling criminal syndicates.
Katsina: Four-Year-Old Rescued, Fake Kidnappers Arrested
In Katsina State, police operatives uncovered a disturbing case of self-staged kidnapping involving two sisters, aged 14 and 4. According to the report, the case began on February 20, 2025, when Alhaji Badamasi Bala reported the sudden disappearance of his daughters.
Four months later, the 14-year-old returned home and confessed to staging the abduction with the help of three co-conspirators aged 25, 19, and 16. The police arrested all suspects and successfully rescued the younger child unharmed.
Nasarawa: AK-47 Rifle Recovered, Arms Trafficker Escapes
In another operation in Nasarawa State, operatives along the Giza–Kadarko Road in Keana LGA intercepted a suspected arms trafficker on an unregistered Bajaj motorcycle.
Upon sighting the officers, the suspect fled into the bush, abandoning the motorcycle. A search led to the recovery of:

Efforts are ongoing to track down and apprehend the fleeing suspect.
Jigawa: $46,100 in Fake Dollars Seized from Fraud Syndicate
A coordinated intelligence-led raid in Jigawa State on June 13, 2025, led to the arrest of seven suspected fraudsters in Kankare and Zurkuda villages, Birnin Kudu LGA.

Police Reaffirm Commitment to Safer Nigeria
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, commended the operations and reassured citizens that the NPF will continue its proactive approach to fight crime through intelligence gathering, rapid response, and strong community collaboration.
The Force also urged the public to remain law-abiding and vigilant, and to report suspicious activities promptly to local police authorities.
