They Abandoned Motorcycle And Fled Leaving Black Bag Containing Pistols, UTC Knife And Charms-CSP
According to a NewsVista report, the streets of Yemetu in Ibadan nearly turned into a crime scene on June 27, 2025, when suspected robbers abandoned their motorcycle and fled, leaving behind a black bag filled with weapons and charms.
CSP Fayiwole Julius Oluwadare, the Divisional Police Officer of the Yemetu Division, revealed that during an early morning patrol around 6:00 a.m., his men, led by ASP Atilola Wasiu, spotted three suspicious men on a motorcycle. The suspects panicked at the sight of the patrol team, dumped the bike, and ran into the surrounding area.
A search of the black bag they left behind uncovered two locally made pistols, two live cartridges, a UTC knife, and several criminal charms believed to be used for protection during armed robberies.
One of the fleeing suspects, identified as 32-year-old Ganiu Fadipe, was caught after a hot pursuit. During interrogation, Fadipe reportedly gave up details that helped the police track down other gang members. Authorities believe the suspects are part of a robbery network operating within Ibadan.
CSP Oluwadare praised his men’s swift response and assured residents that efforts are ongoing to capture the remaining suspects. He also urged the public to stay alert and report any unusual movements in their neighborhoods.
