Young Woman Allegedly Killed by Boyfriend in Sapele, Delta State Amid Relationship Troubles

Tragedy struck in Sapele, Delta State, as a young woman identified as Excel Ukeredi Peace was reportedly murdered by her boyfriend under disturbing circumstances that have sparked public outrage and calls for justice.

According to information gathered by a NewsVista reporter, Excel had been trying to end her troubled relationship but was allegedly pressured to stay against her will. Leaked WhatsApp messages reveal the chilling extent of her fears — she told a friend she was afraid her boyfriend would take away her phone or even harm her if she insisted on leaving.

In one of the messages, Excel confided that she had seen several red flags and was desperate to end things, but didn’t feel safe doing so. She even asked the friend to raise an alarm if she suddenly went offline or wasn’t seen publicly, a heartbreaking sign that she feared for her safety.

Sadly, her fears became reality. Human rights activist Harrison Gwamnishu confirmed that Excel was found dead in her room last Thursday. Her boyfriend, now the prime suspect, has since been arrested and is being held at the Sapele Police Station.

Gwamnishu shared on social media, “Last week Thursday, Excel Ukeredi Peace was allegedly killed by her baby daddy, who is currently detained at Sapele Police Station. Evidence suggests she wanted to end the relationship but was pressured to stay. The family demands justice from the Delta State Police Command.”

The victim’s family is now crying out for a thorough and transparent investigation, alleging that there may already be attempts to tamper with the case. According to the family, efforts are being made to shield the suspect from justice, possibly through bribery.

This tragic incident has reignited urgent conversations about domestic violence, emotional manipulation, and the failure of warning signs to be taken seriously.

As the Delta State Police Command continues its investigation, many are watching closely, hoping that justice will not be denied — not just for Excel, but for the countless women whose silent cries go unheard.
