“I Was Tired of Living” – Lizzo Breaks Silence After Lawsuit Shattered Her Mental Health
In an exclusive chat with Women’s Health, Grammy-winning singer Lizzo opened up about how the sexual assault lawsuit filed by her former dancers nearly broke her. According to a NewsVista reporter, the Yitty founder described the period as one of the darkest points in her life — one that made her question her very existence.
“It got to the point where I thought, ‘What’s the point if everyone hates you and thinks you’re a terrible person?’” she revealed, admitting that while she never contemplated suicide, the emotional weight was suffocating.
The explosive allegations drew global media attention and sparked fierce online backlash. Though Lizzo firmly denied the claims, the controversy dragged her into a storm of mental and emotional turmoil. But what helped shift her mindset was an unexpected moment of support—Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour.
Fearing public rejection, Lizzo stepped into the concert expecting boos but was instead met with roaring cheers. That crowd reaction, she says, became her lifeline. “It reminded me that I’m not alone,” she said.
In December, a judge officially removed Lizzo from the lawsuit, though her touring company remains under legal scrutiny. Today, the singer says she’s finding her strength again and is in a much healthier space—mentally and emotionally.
This rare and emotional revelation marks the first time Lizzo has spoken so openly since the scandal began—offering fans a raw look into her pain, and her healing.
