Troops Crush 10 Deadly Bandits In Manawaji, Uncover Alarming Weapons Cache

According to a NewsVista report, troops under Operation HADIN KAI delivered a major blow to armed bandits in Nigeria’s northeast, killing 10 in a fierce battle and uncovering a large cache of weapons in Manawaji.

The Tuesday, July 1 operation, based on credible intelligence, targeted a major bandit hideout threatening local communities. Troops stormed the enclave with precision, overpowering the criminals in an intense gunfight. Ten were neutralized, while the rest fled, abandoning weapons and gear.

The military recovered automatic rifles, large quantities of ammunition, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and communication gadgets—all used to coordinate attacks. The find is seen as a significant disruption of the gang’s firepower and logistics network.

No civilian casualties were recorded, and residents have praised the army for restoring calm in the area. “We finally feel safe again,” one local said.

The Nigerian Army reiterated its commitment to hunting down the fleeing bandits and urged citizens to remain alert and share useful intelligence.

This operation is part of ongoing efforts to stamp out banditry and insurgency, ensuring peace returns to Nigeria’s troubled northeast.
