2027 Election: Omokri Mentions Region ADC Presidential Ticket Will Go to
A major political twist is unfolding ahead of the 2027 presidential election, as opposition parties officially merged under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) platform in a bold bid to unseat President Bola Tinubu. Key players like former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and ex-Anambra governor Peter Obi have reportedly joined forces after failed negotiations with the SDP.
However, according to NewsVista reporter, controversy is brewing within the coalition.
Political commentator and ex-presidential aide, Reno Omokri, didnāt hold back. In a sharp post on X (formerly Twitter), he described the ADC alliance as a āhostile takeoverā, insisting that neither Peter Obi nor former Rivers State governor, Rotimi Amaechi, stands a chance of clinching the presidential ticket.
Omokri, who has close ties to political insiders, claimed the ADC ticket is already āreservedā for a Northern candidateāone he claims to know personally. He dismissed Southern hopefuls as politically naive, even going as far as mocking Amaechi and suggesting Obi will eventually quit the coalition once he’s sidelined.
According to Omokri, Obi has already floated a one-term presidency proposal, hinting at his plans to still runājust not with the ADC. He believes Northern strategists are outplaying Obi, using the coalition to strip him of critical support in key regions.
Meanwhile, spiritual leader Primate Elijah Ayodele has also weighed in, prophesying that Atiku Abubakar, not Obi or El-Rufai, will emerge as the coalitionās candidate.
As 2027 draws closer, all eyes remain on the ADC and whether this fragile alliance will holdāor explode.
