“Why I Dumped Law For Acting”: Femi Adebayo Opens up in Fun QnA Session With Dad, Reason Goes Viral

According to NewsVista, Nollywood star Femi Adebayo has sparked massive reactions online after admitting that money — not passion — was what pushed him into acting.

In a light-hearted interview clip with his legendary father, Adebayo Salami (aka Oga Bello), the AMVCA-winning actor revealed he left his law career behind after realizing he could earn ₦50,000 in just three days on a movie set, compared to the ₦20,000 monthly salary from his legal job.

“I switched to acting because of the money, simple,” Femi confessed, triggering mixed reactions on social media.

While some fans praised his honesty, others reflected on how passion and purpose often start from practicality. “Anything can be your motivation — thank God say you no lie,” one user commented. Another said, “My lab job paid ₦10k monthly; my side hustle paid ₦100k. I switched too!”

Femi also admitted that although his father wanted him to study law for prestige, following him to rehearsals as a child ignited his love for acting — proving sometimes destiny and profit align.
