“I Have More Empathy Than Peter Obi?” – VeryDarkMan Fires Back at Tinubu’s Aide Over Viral Comment
According to NewsVista reports, popular social media critic Martins Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan, has responded after a top presidential aide compared him to Labour Party’s Peter Obi.
Daniel Bwala, special adviser to President Bola Tinubu on policy communication, stirred controversy during an interview on Channels TV where he claimed VeryDarkMan showed “more empathy” than Obi—pointing out that the activist visited Benue after a deadly attack, while Obi did not.
“Empathy is personal,” Bwala said, accusing Obi of only acting when politically convenient.
In a viral video, VeryDarkMan addressed the comparison, calling out Bwala for what he described as poor fact-checking. “Dear Daniel Bwala, as the special adviser to the president, you have failed to gather the right information. So how do you advise the president?” he asked.
The online activist also reminded viewers that Obi was reportedly denied access to IDP camps in Benue by the state government, questioning the logic behind blaming the former governor for not visiting.
While some social media users applauded VeryDarkMan’s calm and mature response, others called out Bwala for politicizing a sensitive issue.
The exchange has since gone viral, sparking fresh debate about political empathy, media spin, and the role of public figures in times of crisis.
