We Employed a Housemaid — She’s Now Pregnant and Claiming My Husband Is the Father

A Nigerian woman is currently facing the battle of her life after discovering that the housemaid she brought into her home just six months ago is pregnant — and claims her husband is the father.

In a deeply emotional account, the heartbroken wife said their domestic worker, a 20-year-old girl from the village, initially appeared quiet and well-behaved, helping with house chores and caring for the children.

But last week, the situation took a shocking turn.

“She came out boldly and told the entire house she’s pregnant — and said it’s my husband’s baby. I thought it was a lie until she said: ‘It’s oga’s baby. He promised me things. I didn’t force him.’”

The husband, however, flatly denies the allegation, claiming the girl is out to ruin their home.

Despite his denial, the woman says several signs make her suspicious — including late-night phone calls, unexplainable gifts, and the way he always took the maid’s side during house matters.

“His family is defending him, saying the maid wants to disgrace us. But I can’t ignore my instincts. My home is falling apart.”

As the young maid’s belly begins to show, the wife is left with a painful dilemma — to fight for her marriage or walk away from what she calls a “shameful betrayal.”
