I Got Pregnant for My Lecturer — He Said I Must Abort It or Fail My Final Year
I didn’t plan for it to happen. I just wanted to graduate and make my parents proud. But now I’m carrying shame, fear, and a child I didn’t expect.
It started with innocent favours. My HOD noticed me in 300 level and began to “mentor” me. At first, it was small things — helping with course registration, defending me when other lecturers tried to frustrate me.
Then it became personal.
He started calling at night. Inviting me to his office after class. At first I refused, but he said,
“You know final year is tough. One missing script, one poor grade, and your career is over. Let me take care of you.”
I gave in.
It happened only a few times, but it was enough. One morning, I woke up feeling strange. My roommate joked that I was “glowing.” I wasn’t. I was pregnant.
When I told him, he looked at me like a stranger.
“You better remove it if you want to graduate. Don’t bring drama into my life,” he said.
I cried for days. I couldn’t tell my parents. I couldn’t tell my friends. And now I’m torn between two options — my baby or my future.
I haven’t made a decision yet. But one thing is clear: I will never let another man hold my future hostage in exchange for my body again.
