I Married My Husband with a Clean Heart — Then I Found Out He Already Had a Secret Wife in Ghana
When I said “I do,” I thought I was marrying the man who would protect my heart forever. But I was wrong — deeply wrong.
Jide and I met during NYSC. He was charming, respectful, and everything I prayed for. Within a year, we got married. His family welcomed me, and I felt like I had finally found peace.
Until two weeks ago.
A woman from Ghana messaged me on Facebook. She said:
“Hi, I think we’re both married to the same man. I’m not looking for drama, but I need answers.”
I ignored it at first. But she sent wedding photos — her with Jide, wearing traditional kente, dated 2019. My own wedding to Jide was in 2023.
I nearly dropped my phone.
When I confronted him, he denied it. Said the photos were edited. But the more I investigated, the more I uncovered. Travel records. Receipts. Calls.
The worst part? They have a son together.
This man made me believe I was his first and only wife. Meanwhile, he was living a full double life across borders.
Now I live in shame. My parents are disappointed. I feel used, deceived, and lost. And Jide? He says “it’s complicated” and wants to “fix things.”
But how do you fix something built on lies?
