I Got a Job Abroad, But My Sister Changed the Phone Number on My Visa File and Went Instead

This still feels like a nightmare. I had been applying for jobs abroad since 2022. I finally got lucky with a caregiver offer from the UK. The agency was legit, and everything was set — even my visa approval came out faster than expected.

But there was one mistake: I trusted my elder sister too much.

I used her email and phone number during registration because my phone had issues. She was the one who received most of the updates. She even followed me to do medicals.

Then suddenly… silence.

The agency stopped responding. I waited and waited — nothing. Weeks later, I got a random message from an unknown number saying,

“We wish you the best in your new life abroad.”

Confused, I checked the agency’s Instagram and saw a photo of a new batch of caregivers arriving in the UK. My name was in the caption — but the woman in the photo wasn’t me. It was my sister.

She had changed the phone number and email on the visa file, used my documents, and left without telling me.

When I confronted my family, they said, “She did it for survival… she was desperate.”

Now she’s in Manchester, posting pictures with captions like “God Did.” And I’m here — heartbroken, jobless, and betrayed by my own blood.
