My Husband Pretended to Travel for Work — I Found Him Living With Another Woman in Another State
For years, I believed I was married to a hardworking man. John was always “travelling for business” — Port Harcourt this week, Abuja next month. He’d stay two weeks, sometimes a month, and come home smelling of different perfumes but full of sweet excuses.
I never suspected anything serious. After all, he sent money, called every night, and even prayed with me over the phone. He made it seem like I was the only woman in his world.
Until I travelled for my cousin’s wedding in Uyo.
I went to get suya late that evening when I saw a familiar car drive past. It looked exactly like my husband’s. I brushed it off until I saw him — holding a woman by the waist and carrying her baby.
I followed them.
They entered a compound, hugged, kissed, and walked in like a family.
I stood outside, frozen.
I waited until the next morning and knocked. When he opened the door, his jaw dropped. He couldn’t speak.
The woman asked, “Who is she?”
I replied, “I’m his wife.”
Everything scattered.
He later confessed he had been married to her for two years and claimed he “loved us both.”
Now I don’t even know what hurts more — the betrayal or the fact that I almost named our unborn daughter after him.
