Tyla Teams Up with Wizkid for New Summer Banger ‘Dynamite’
South African music sensation Tyla is about to turn up the heat this summer — and she’s bringing Wizkid along for the ride.
The GRAMMY-winning duo is set to drop a brand-new anthem titled ‘Dynamite’ on July 25, serving as one of the lead tracks from Tyla’s upcoming mixtape, WEWANNAPARTY — a title that leaves no doubt about its upbeat, dancefloor-driven direction.
Ahead of the project’s release, Tyla hosted an exclusive listening session in London on July 16, where she sat down with host Eddie Kadi to share the exciting backstory behind her long-awaited collaboration with Wizkid.
How ‘Dynamite’ Came to Life
Tyla revealed that the idea for the track first sparked in 2022, during her very first trip to Nigeria:
“I was in my hotel lobby and I saw Wizkid — I was like, ‘What the heck, is that Wizkid?!’ So I just DM’d him and asked if I could play him some music. He replied ‘yeah’, and my manager and I played him some stuff. He was vibing with it.”
Their connection led to recording sessions in Ghana, but the collaboration took time to complete.
“We both got busy, life was happening,” Tyla explained. “But when I started putting together WEWANNAPARTY, I went back to all my demos and remembered the Wiz one. It still sounded good — even after three years! So I hit him up like, ‘Let’s finish it because I want to drop it’.”
Produced by P.Prime, Dynamite promises to blend both artists’ signature Afro-fusion sounds with an infectious party-ready energy.
