Hailey Bieber Shuts Down Rumors Her $1 Billion Rhode Deal Is Tied to Justin’s Alleged Debt
On Friday, July 18, Hailey Bieber’s team swiftly denied rumors that the billion-dollar sale of her skincare brand, Rhode, was connected to her husband Justin Bieber’s alleged financial obligations to Scooter Braun’s Hybe.
In a statement to Us Weekly, her rep made it clear:
“The historic sale of Rhode is a huge accomplishment for Hailey and is completely separate from her husband and his business affairs.”
The clarification came a day after TMZ reported that Justin was stalling a $31.5 million settlement with Hybe, allegedly until Hailey’s Rhode deal was finalized. Sources claimed Justin, an investor in Rhode, could stand to gain around $50 million from the sale—funds that would more than cover his tab with Hybe.
According to the report, an independent audit revealed Justin owed Hybe $26 million for costs related to his canceled Justice World Tour, which Hybe had covered on his behalf.
Additionally, he allegedly owed $11 million in unpaid commissions, although $8 million of that amount was reportedly waived.
The rumored condition? Justin wouldn’t pay until Hailey’s deal closed. But Hailey’s team insists: her billion-dollar success is hers alone.
In May, Hailey sold Rhode to e.l.f Beauty for a reported $1 billion, according to Forbes.
The deal includes $600 million in cash, $200 million in e.l.f shares, and an additional $200 million contingent on performance milestones.
Despite the acquisition, Hailey will stay on as Chief Creative Officer and Head of Innovation, continuing to steer the brand she built from scratch.
