Final Tributes: Atiku, Kwankwaso, Saraki Visit Buhari’s Gravesite, Pray for Late President

NewsVista reports that the gravesite of late former President Muhammadu Buhari has become a center of reflection as top opposition figures continue to pay their final respects.

Buhari, who passed away on Sunday, July 13, in a London clinic, was laid to rest in Daura, Katsina, on Tuesday, July 15, with a state funeral led by President Bola Tinubu and attended by dignitaries from across Africa.

Following the burial, political heavyweights—including opposition leaders—have visited Buhari’s resting place to offer prayers and console his family.

Among the visitors were:

🔹 Atiku Abubakar: The former Vice President visited the gravesite with Nasir El-Rufai, then joined a three-day prayer session and paid respects to Aisha Buhari.
🔹 Rabiu Kwankwaso: The NNPP leader also visited Buhari’s grave, the Emir of Daura, and Buhari’s nephew, Mamman Daura.
🔹 Bukola Saraki: The ex-Senate President tweeted about his visit, saying he paused at the graveside to “offer prayers and pay respects.”

Former VP Yemi Osinbajo also released a statement mourning Buhari, calling his legacy a “testament to the nobility of public service.”

As tributes pour in, Buhari’s death marks the end of an era—one that continues to spark deep emotions across political lines.
