I Found My Wife’s Waist Beads Inside a Calabash — Hidden in Her Mother’s Room

We’ve been married for 3 years. My wife is beautiful, respectful, and loving. But every time I tried to take certain business steps or make serious money moves — something always blocked it.

I did everything: fasting, midnight prayers, even sowing seeds. Nothing worked.

Last weekend, we traveled to my wife’s hometown for her cousin’s wedding. Her mother welcomed us warmly, but something about her energy made me uncomfortable.

On the second day, I misplaced my wristwatch. I searched everywhere. Out of desperation, I entered her mother’s room when she had stepped out. What I saw shook me to my soul.

In a calabash, under her bed, were three red candles, dried lizard skin, and my wife’s waist beads — the exact ones she claimed to have lost two years ago.

My chest tightened. I took a photo and quietly left the room.

That night, I confronted my wife in private. At first, she denied it. But later she confessed in tears — her mother convinced her to tie me down spiritually so I wouldn’t “leave her when I became rich.”

Now, I don’t know what hurts more — the betrayal or the fact that someone I love felt the need to spiritually cage me just to keep me.

I’m scared. I feel used. Was any of this love ever real?
