“What They Are Seeing in APC Is Unfortunate” — PDP’s Dan Ulasi Says Defected Governors Now Regret Move
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain Chief Dan Ulasi has claimed that two former PDP governors — Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom and Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State — are regretting their decision to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking on Channels Television, Ulasi said he has been in direct communication with the defected governors and has insider knowledge of their current frustrations.
“They Can’t Go Forward or Backward”
According to Ulasi, the governors now feel stuck in a political space that offers no real progress.
“I’ve been talking with the defected governors, and what they are seeing where they have moved to in the APC is unfortunate. They feel engaged in a spectacle. They can’t go forward or backward,” he stated.
Ulasi suggested that the defections were driven by political pressures rather than genuine conviction, describing the move as a political miscalculation.
PDP’s Performance vs APC’s Reality
Ulasi praised the governance record of the ten states still controlled by the PDP, pointing to Bauchi and Enugu as examples of effective leadership.
“If you go to their states where they are governing, excellent work is being done there. Go to Bauchi. Go to Enugu State — the governor is about the best-performing governor in this country,” he said.
Tinubu’s Political Strategy
While critical of the APC, Ulasi acknowledged President Bola Tinubu as a highly strategic politician whose political skills should not be underestimated. He warned that challenging the ruling party would require a serious, coordinated plan.
