Domestic Worker Who Ran Away With Cash And Jewelries Just 10 Days After Being Employed – Wanted
Police in Pietermaritzburg are searching for a 19-year-old domestic worker, Masphile Nokwanda Tshabalala, who allegedly disappeared with cash and valuable jewelry from her employer’s home just ten days after being hired.
According to reports, the incident happened in the Table Mountain area earlier this month. Tshabalala was said to have gained the trust of her employer before allegedly fleeing with an undisclosed amount of money and two sterling silver rings.
The case, registered under SAPS Bishopstowe CAS 10/10/2025, has sparked a full-scale investigation. Reaction Unit South Africa confirmed that the young woman was last seen in the Makongo area shortly after the alleged theft.
Police believe the act may have been carefully planned, and efforts are underway to trace her movements and possible accomplices.
“We urge anyone who may have seen or interacted with the suspect to come forward immediately. All information will be treated confidentially,” said a police spokesperson.
Authorities have also warned employers to verify references and conduct background checks before hiring domestic workers to prevent similar cases. Read Original
