Home Affairs Official Busted A Chinese Factory Arrested 22 Foreigners With Ak-47 Automatic Rifles

In a shocking turn of events, a factory owned by a Chinese national in Roodepoort, Johannesburg, has been exposed as more than just a workplace — it was allegedly being used to hide powerful weapons and ammunition.

Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Njabulo Nzuza, confirmed that during a surprise joint raid by immigration officers and SAPS, 22 foreign nationals were arrested — most of them undocumented.

What began as a routine inspection over illegal employment turned into a criminal discovery when police uncovered crates of ammunition, several handguns, and an AK-47 rifle hidden inside the premises.

Authorities have since sealed off the site as investigations continue into possible links to organized crime and weapon smuggling.

“This was not just a labour violation — it’s a serious security threat,” Nzuza said.

The factory owner, also under arrest, faces charges of illegal possession of firearms and immigration violations.

Officials say this operation is part of a nationwide crackdown on factories and workshops that employ undocumented workers and use them to cover up criminal activities. Read Original
