IGP promotes 17 officers for major drug and arms seizures

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has elevated 17 police officers in acknowledgement of their exceptional professionalism and commitment to their duties.

According to a Facebook post by the police on Wednesday, January 28, 2024, these officers were promoted due to their significant contribution to the seizure of 10 wrapped slabs of cocaine valued at approximately GHC 1,032,650.00, along with sacks of substances believed to be narcotic drugs in Ho, located in the Volta Region.

Additionally, they were involved in the recovery of an AK-47 rifle, a pump-action gun, and eight live AAA ammunition during a routine patrol operation in Jacobu.

The IGP, along with members of the Police Management Board (POMAB), congratulated the officers on their advancement and praised them for embodying the core values of the Service through discipline, courage, and professionalism.

IGP Yohuno also encouraged the promoted officers to regard their advancement as a call to greater responsibility and urged all personnel to persist in their diligent efforts, assuring them that excellence and integrity are the foundations for recognition and promotion within the Ghana Police Service.
