Chiragwi happy as CAPS United reclaims top spot

CAPS United returned to the top of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) Saturday following a 1-0 win over Herentals at Rufaro Stadium in Harare.
Popularly known as ‘Makepekepe’, the Harare outfit’s victory was enabled by striker Obriel Chirinda, who scored in the first half to mark his debut goal for the team since joining earlier this year.
So important was the win for CAPS United that it saw them bounce back to the apex of the log with six points in two games, hence marking a 100% winning record for team head coach Takesure Chiragwi, who is also new.

“It’s important to win, and it shows progress. I am happy the boys did well and they are pushing; so far, so good, but of course, we have to continue improving.
“We are still early in the season, but winning is important because, at the end of the day, we compete to win,” said Chiragwi.
CAPS United is setting the pace on top of the log with 6 points, and they are the only side to have won its first two games as of now.
Elsewhere, at Ngoni Stadium in Norton, MWOS FC played a 1-1 draw against Tel One FC, while FC Platinum picked up its first win of the season with a 2-0 victory over Manica Diamonds.
At Barbourfields in Bulawayo, Chicken Inn edged Triangle 2-0, as Hardrock picked up a crucial 1-0 away win at Nyamhunga Stadium in Kariba against Hardrock.
