If It Was My Daughter, How Would I Feel? Everything Is In Govt’s Hands – Timileyin Ajayi’s Mother

According to a video posted by Channels TV, the area around Timileyin’s home—where the crime was committed and Salome is said to have been killed—has been eerily quiet. Timileyin reportedly severed her head and dismembered her body parts before he was apprehended.

The compound consists of three flats, one of which was occupied by Timileyin. The property is now deserted, as his neighbors have vacated the premises.

The entire neighborhood remains extremely quiet, with residents living in fear. Timileyin’s neighbors only knew him as a young man who lived alone.
“The only thing I know is that he’s a solo person. I don’t see him with friends. Each time he passes by my house, he greets me, and I greet him, and that is it,” one neighbor shared.

Another neighbor added:
“For me, he has a deceptive look—let me just put it that way. For someone to have the heart to do what he did means that you can’t really judge people by their appearance alone.”

Timileyin’s parents and other siblings reside in a nearby community. His mother and father, an elderly couple, are still grappling with the tragedy that has disrupted their peaceful lives.

While his father, Sunday Ajayi, pleads for understanding on his behalf, the family insists that Timileyin, one of three children, has not been disowned. His mother, Dorcas Ajayi, has chosen to leave the matter in the hands of the police.

She said:
“Had it been one of my daughters that this was done to, how would I feel? You know. So, I don’t know. Whatever the government wants to do, everything is in the government’s hands.”

The Nigerian police and authorities have confirmed that investigations are ongoing, while the Nasarawa State Government has promised to ensure that the perpetrator is brought to justice.
